چکیده
This paper is a presentation of Finite Element Modeling Software named FEMS that integrates mesh generation and adaption features in order to alleviate significantly the difficulty designing (FE) for particular problem. targeted at engineers scientists addressing localization problems mechanics, although it should be suited many other applications. particularly relevant with internal interfaces, both solid fluid as has explicit implicit interface representation. The former can generated from signed distance functions using body-fitted meshing capabilities implemented FEMS, while latter relies on level-set method. choice between one or made by user depending severity deformations neighborhood an interface. An overview of the deal.II library is given. This library provides the functionality needed by modern numerical software used in the finite element solution of partial differential equations, offering adaptively refined meshes, different finite element classes, multigrid solvers and support for one, two and three spatial dimensions. We give a description of the basic design criteria used in the...
متن کاملA Proposed Modeling Method in Finite Element Slope Stability Analysis
Limit-equilibrium method (LEM) and finite element method (FEM) with strength reduction method (SRM) techniques are the most widely used analysis tools in slope stability assessment. Recently, researchers have reported that both factor of safety (FOS) values and failure surfaces obtained from LEM and FEM are generally in good agreement, except in some particular cases. In this paper, the FOS and...
متن کاملA novel modification of decouple scaled boundary finite element method in fracture mechanics problems
In fracture mechanics and failure analysis, cracked media energy and consequently stress intensity factors (SIFs) play a crucial and significant role. Based on linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM), the SIFs and energy of cracked media may be estimated. This study presents the novel modification of decoupled scaled boundary finite element method (DSBFEM) to model cracked media. In this metho...
متن کاملnumerical modeling of linear viscoelasticity in a finite element method software package to be used in multiphysics modeling
in this paper, the capabilities of modeling linear viscoelasticty in a finite element method software package (comsol multiphysics) have been investigated. the governing equations of linear viscoelasticity have been developed for 2d cases of plane stress and plane strain. these equations have been verified by solving a related engineering example. since the developed equations are suitable for ...
